Carin Whelehan, LCMHC
My therapeutic approach is one that is collaborative and respectful. I take a supportive, nonjudgmental stance in helping you explore your challenges and connect with your strengths to help you cope effectively in life. I feel the client should be met where they are at and supported on their journey of change. I want you to feel empowered to become the best version of yourself. Life can be as lovely as you make it, and I want to help you explore how to most fully engage with and enjoy your life.
I have over 10 years’ experience working in a variety of settings with a variety of individuals. I have worked with teens, adults and elderly individuals and have expertise in personality disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, women’s issues, relational issues, mood disorders, and substance use disorders. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. I enjoy working both one on one and in group therapy.
